Were talking time delay effects?

Delay and reverb in the input side, instead of in a loop are not everyones cup of tea. A simple passive loop 'can' work in this case. A reverb in the front end works for me but I do know players who insist on delay effect being in a loop. The loop is not hard to build. You need one for each channel though.
Others can chime in with their experiences.

I use reverb and delays in front myself... for my 2c using effects loops is a fang of a lot of extra cabling for very small benefit, but it all comes down to how you're using the amp

Like Stephen said it might be your cup of tea, but I'll do a demo with my settings when I get time so you can hear what I mean

Maybe this should be a new topic but I'm thinking that the trinity OT has UL taps. Wouldn't this give more headroom? I don't need more headroom but I'm just thinking out loud here. I have the V6 and would it be possible to connect the UL taps to the 6V6 tubes only? Would this give any problem when run in El84 mode? I have a echolette m40 pa amp which run 4*EL84 in UL mode and the cleans are great. I have never pushed the output to distortion though. The preamps gives enough dirt anyway.

I like the way the 6V6 sounds as it is, but maybe it would be fun to try in the future.

Perhaps the B+ is too high. But I think screen resistors and zener diodes can be used with UL taps connected to reduce b+.

The OT doesn't have exact UL taps, close, but they are 5K so close. In the original Radio spares OT, they were UL taps.
You could try them but would have to switch them in/out for EL84

The original RS has 43% taps but I don't know how to interpret that, I'm guessing winding ratio of primary?

If so is this math correct?
Winding ratio=square root(8000/8)=31.6
43% of 31.6 is 13.588
The impedance would be square(13.588) times 8 which equals 1457ohms. That is only 18.5% of the primary impedance while 5k is much higher 62.5%. I'm not sure just trying to learn here.

It pretty much explains everything. It looks like connecting the screens to the 5k tap would more like runing it in triode mode. So definitely not an option for more power.

For an TMB 18W could you do a mod for the normal chanell so that it stays kinda "cleanish" / "on the edge of breakup" when you roll the volume all the way up...?

Sure you can. You can decrease the cathode bypass capacitor to .68 or less, and increase the cathode resistor to 1.5K.
I would start with these and experiment.
You can also drop the plate resistor a bit, say 20%.

Another way that affects both channels though, is to put in a lower gain tube like a 5751 or 12AY7.

Wich tubes need to be changed power or preamp?

No, just drop a 5751 in V1 position and see what you think.

Ultimately no, jst wher eon the dial, it breaks up. But max vol should still be the same.
