What is your B+ voltage?

Please check voltages at the plus side of each of the the 16 uf caps on the turret board. Let me know what they are.

Also, if you can check continuity of the jumpers under the board so that they all go to the correct places (i.e. measure zero resistance between turret that are jumpered together).

Check the post "Builders Guide Photos" and compare that to your board.

The first thing I did was check under the board. ALl is fine there. The B+ measures at 2.4v and the 16 uf + measures 2.4 while the negatives are 0.

You'll need to check the wiring to the rectifier and the output of it. Check against my Hi Voltage layout in this forum. AC in , DC out to the standby switch. Then if you get approx 340 out of the rectifier and past the standby switch, the next stop is the 32/32 can cap. Chack you have i wired correctly and measure the voltages on the two positive lugs i.e. on each side of the 1.5K resistor.

Can you post a picture?

Good news to all. I finally have my amp functioning properly. Stephen, a true professional walked me through the problem. I found out that a meter reading error along with a bad tube was to blame. I still believe that my master vol. pot is scratchy, but that will be an easy fix. I want to personally thank everyone that has helped me. I am very excited to have this amp cranked. I will post sound clips later.

Great News. Check the wiring oof the Master Vol, then, spary some contact cleaner in there and clean it up. Shouldnt need it but if that doesnt work, I can send you a new pot. I would check V2 as well (at least swap it as a trial) . A bad tube can do weird things including amplifying such scratchy sounds.
