Had to stop again, other things arose, plus my illness, oh well. So I get back to the drawing board and do I go back to the amp, Nope! Now I'm thinking about the footswitch I'm going to build. Parts I ordered came in, now what do I do with this.

I have a cliff true bypass footswitch with led capabilities. All I want to do is make a footswitch with an on-off indicator (the footswitch is for the boost mod). The led is 6 volts (don't know the ma's yet) Has a green wire and red. Which is the cathode and which is the anode (red is hot +?). How many volts will come off that boost? Do I need to add another resistor and will I need to add a 9vt battery?
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Jac

Apparently you only have 2 wires to switch the boost in/out so you cant feed power down the line as well.

Hope you have a second pole on the switch inside the foot switch box you can use to switch a 9V to the LED. Use as big a dropping resistor as possible. For LED calculations, check out

Hey coco, I have this switch http://www.mojomusicalsupply.com/item.a ... id=2176310
So I have the capacity to do whatever I want. I guess that means I'll need a 9volt. Sucks.
Thanks, Jac
Nice link :D

I was trying to use a fender size single throw footswitch. With a 9volt, can't do that. I'll have to place in a bigger box. Oh well, that's life.

Going to put a spring in the cab to house this like the old ampegs. Niccccce

Well, let's try it again.

New pics (well, girlfriend's bought a new camera). Still can't hold steady  . Little better quality.

Almost done with amp, what a ball.
Everytime I get back to it. I'm lost for hours. A b***ch that it take's me so long. "All good things come to pass".
Later, Jac
Opps, not up yet, hold on.
Can't get these pics to upload.
I'll keep trying,
Thanks

Coco, just a heads up. I'm having problems right now. You stated in your guide to cut the excess wires a minimum of 6 inches. On the combo the board is offset, and I'm now haing to extend the wires (cut and splice) because they have to be at least 8 inches.
Just thought you'd like to know. Maybe add that in the manual for future combo builders. It's a pain.

Thank you, I'm doing my best to get a nice clean build. Hard when ypor hand shakes . I'm so close I can't wait to fire her up on the variac.

I had the same problem on the head. I cut the wires too short and had to extend about 5-6. I believe that it was because of the 6v6's that the shift occured.
Glad to hear that you are having so much fun, jac. :D

There is a chart in the docs. I recommend you fill it in for reference. I'll add a couple inches to the docs btw.

She's done! Not turning on yet. I have to build the footswicth and the speaker cable. I'm building my own. The first pic is the cable. The question of the night? what gauge do you think she is?
I've been building cables for years for area bands. Only the best. Trinity's getting the same treatment. :D

Hi all,

Well, I'm back.
Hospital's suck, pills suck. Oh well.
Also moved. Well had alot of friennds that helped. My new shop is awesome. Electronics upstairs and full workshop in basement. I left off with the amp completed. So I powered up. The pt was really hot. powered back down. Started checking everything. Wrong revision. Had the black/white 120v line connected to the indicator. Switched everything (indicator blew), powered back up. Slowly on a variac. PT smoking. Might as well just trash all and buy a hammond.at least there cheap. or just say screw it. I don't know.
This sucks.
Thanks.

Could use a pic of your PT wiring jac. Make sure none of the PT output wires are going to ground.

Followed the earlier version of your layout. My fault, do not know if I care anymore. Funny, I just got a new guitar for the amp, last week. Now I just don't know if I care.. I'll try to post a pic. We'll see.

Thanks for the response.
