Hi,
I'm just putting my first plexi kit together, i've done the heater wiring
so far but the transformers i have are valvepower in the uk made to 18
watt spec but could someone advise me on the wiring for 240.
Transformer has 2x290 with a ct, it says scr to earth is that for chassis ground N And L to mains. 0v and 6.3v and lastly 3.15x2 with ct.
I'm not sure on the o/t primary it has an1 and an2 with ct on the secondary
it 4 8 16 ohm and 0 not sure where that goes.
Could you explain it as clearly as poss just want to be sure.
When i've wired it up i'll get a picture up so someone can look it over.
Thanks for the help.

Pretty hard to say which is the 240Vac primary for the power transformer without pix. The 290 vac secondary and ct are wired the same as the diagram here on this website. Its possible the secondary has 2 filament windings but you'll only need one. The 3.15-ct-3.15 would be the best choice.
The output tranny marked an2 and an2 are probably anode 1 and 2 which are the plates (anodes) of the 2 output tubes and the CT will be your B+. The secondard on the opt has the impedance taps 4,8 &16 and the 0 is the common which will go the shield of the speaker jack and the 4,8,16 will go to the switch or to individual speaker jacks if you go that route.
That help?
Stew

I agree with Stoo's interpretation of the transformer connection labels. However, I think it would make most sense to directly e-mail Steve at Valve Power. He's a very helpful guy, who's been an amp builder for a long time, and recently started producing this line of 18W transformers in the UK.
