I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the sIII kit today. My last build was a 5E3 kit from Mission Amps and I feel I'm ready to move on to a 18 watt build. I recognize several names here from over at 18watt. It's nice to know I'm in good company.

I'll try not to be too much of a pest, but I'm sure I will need a helping hand somewhere during the build process so I'm sure you'll be hearing from me a little more in the near future. I really like building amps as a hobby so I try to squeeze as much fun out of building them as possible. By that I mean I'll agonize for 20 minutes over whether to make a connection this way or that way. Then, I'll solder it and look at it for another 20 minutes wondering if I should have done it the other way (and loving every minute of it). The way I do things I'll be lucky if I can complete the thing in 2 months (and that wouldn't bother me one bit).

Welcome, I built an sIII from scratch using the doco here and found it went together really easily, with Stephens kit it will be a breeze. Great amp as well, I just have to persuade my mate to give it back now! I am going to start another soon in a 2 X 12 combo format.

Good luck and ask as many questions as you like.

Welcome Easto, peruse the pics here to get a feeling as to what you're about to build. It will be on your door step before you know it. Ask as many questions as you want in advance and since you're one of the first to get one of the new transformer sets, we'll all really waiting with bated breath to hear from you.

Congrats on the buy....I built an sIII from scratch....
and to this day, it's my goto amp for plexi/classic rock tones.

It's simply put, the most quiet (noise-wise), most well behaved TMB you'll build/buy!

Good luck with the build and dont be afraid to ask any questions if you hit a stumbling block!

Thanks for asking!

I got a little sidetracked with my amp building stuff and had to put it on the back burner for a while. Things are back in order and I hope to have it done by Christmas.
