Hi i built a plexi up from parts it's my second one and i'm trying to get it working well.
I had squeal so i redid everything, shortened wires, redid input jacks etc, i'll post some pictures up in the next couple of days.
I had the wrong value in the 8k2 2w from b+ so i swapped it with the correct one then noticed the first coupling cap .022 next to 8.2k resistor has got hot or something as it looks like it's cracked and changed shape.
What causes that i'm just putting in a .01 as that's what i've got at the moment till i get a new one same as the s111 by the looks of it no idea wha it'll do either.
Thanks.

Well it could be that what ever resistor you had in there originally got very hot and cooked that cap next to it, or the cap itself was underrated voltage wise. I'd change the cap out if I was you. If it's gone leaky you don't want to put 200+ volts on the o/p tube grid!!

Oh it's leaky and then i noticed another one going the same way.
All it was i was 95% happy then i thought i'd keep going shortening wires etc.
I reflowed all the joints to make sure and changed the resistor in the 8k2 2w position
as it wasn't the correct value and i think all the messing around has somehow caused it.
I also think the 220uf power caps have either a dry joint or faulty, i'll know more when
i pull them out.
