I too have done this mod to my AA764 circuit Vibro Champ. All I did for now was lift the ground off of the 15K resistor on the back of the bass pot. Removes the tone stack from the circuit and really increases the gain. One of these days I'll have to wire it to a switch or ,better still, a pedal. It's a mod worth doing.

This kind of mod will have a much bigger effect in F**der amps, since they have lossier tone stacks than Marshalls, with a lot more mid-scoop.
