I am trying to turn my sIII into a cascading plexi and was curious if anyone else has had difficulty doing this? my tonal controls become dead and every other control sounds like its crossing phase everywhere. The top is what I have, the bottom is what I want. thanks in advance for the info!

That Trinity18_Plexi_SL_Layout.jpg is the layout of my amp. It is a bit different from the sIII in that I mix the channels before V2, no tone control for the first ch, bridged inputs etc. Are you just trying to cascade the channels or are you trying to implement my layout?

Hi Les

I want to be able to have my v/t channel and my tmb channel on individual inputs, then i want to be able to cascade them guit>v/t channel>tmb channel. v/t and tmb sound great on their own, but i want to be able to get a faux dumbel sound with the amp so i want to try the cascade. Ive tried 4 or 5 different ways of wiring as well, cant seem to get it. thanks in advance

You want this schematic then for cascading the normal ch to the TMB ch with separate inputs. download/file.php?id=271&mode=view

Do you have a push/pull switch on one of the volumes? Or, do you have a DPDT switch on the back of the amp?

If it helps, I can try to draw up a pic of how to wire the switch.

i have a dpdt switch that i have been wiring to no luck, and it looks like i have already tried this schematic wiring. if its not too much trouble a diagram would be helpful. thanks!

Here is a crude layout. Let me know if it is still not clear.

The green ground wire should run from the switch, under the t-board straight to the ground buss.

Might be nice with a Pull Control on the front panel.

i have an extra tag and screw...could i just ground the switch right there by the tubes without having to go all the way back to the bus?

just want to make it a little easier than monkeying around with the bus again...but if thats the best way...let me knw

Yes, you could get away with that in this case.

Check out this picture
download/file.php?id=755&mode=view

Two of the connections are shielded. The other two are either short enough or not sensitive enough to bother shielding.

did it last night and played it today...sounds good...not overly sold on it though...i had taken the resistor off of the gain pot...(left it in 'place', taped up so that i could simply put it back on if i wanted, did the same with the wire going to the tone pot that gets changed out for the shielded wire to the switch....taped and secured to another wire so it can't come loose, but is easy to re-attached if i want to go back on the mod)

the only thing i noticed was that the bass sounded fuzzy...kind of like a bass through a fuzz pedal...not bad...but i don't want to mess with the cap's to tighten the bass on the individual channels b/c i'm happy there...we shall see

rookie mistake last night...i think almost fried the switch...wasn't thinking while demoing the amp to a friend and switched off the cascade while the amp was still on...it went silent...the switch didn't seem to work...then after a few up-downs...it appears to be working again...note to self...don't do it again!!

I switch mine all the time while playing without any issues. Maybe there is a loose connection or bad solder joint on your switch.

interesting thought...i was about to post that with the cascade off it seemed like the amp was a little louder than with the cascade on...maybe there is a loose joint...
