When I first decided to build it was just going to be a speaker cabinet because I just happened to have this speaker on hand. Well one thing led to the next and now I am building the entire amp. So my question is, will this speaker go well with the 18 watt Plexi or is it over kill. If so what speaker is recommended for this amp. I just want 1, 12".

It really depends on the sound you are going for but that speaker should be fine. Don't worry about it being overkill at 90 watts. I have a 4/12 cab with 200 watt speakers in it and it sounds great.
