Sorry for the simple question, Sozo caps have a black line on one end, does it matter what direction these caps go on the board? I have seen pictures with some all facing the tubes, some all facing the tone controls and some mixed. I have read that the black line indicates the outside foil of the capacitor. Sozo says that you should connect the outside foil terminal of the capacitor to the lowest impedance side of the circuit. For coupling applications, orient the capacitor so that the outer foil connects to the "incoming signal" and the inner foil to the "output" side of the circuit. Does anyone pay attention to this? Is there a performance difference when everything is oriented the correct way? On the 18 watt board does someone have the layout that should be correct?

Just wondering.

There is no polarity of these caps and they can go in whatever way you want. We have seen some evidence that following those steps makes a noise difference but we never added that to our layouts. you can follow the circuit from input to output and orient them accordingly.

We'll updte our layouts to show this, assuming SoZo caps.
