I finally finished up my Trinity TMB and have been playing it for the past few weeks. It fired up first time no problems - quiet as a mouse noise wise even when dimed.
I still need to play around with the TMB channel as it is a bit too trebly for me. The Normal channel is awesome.

I have a question on my voltages. I think pin 1 on V1 and V2 are pretty low compared to other values I have seen at 18watt.com and Legins sIII values posted here.

Should I be concerned?

-------Pin 1 ---Pin2----Pin3---Pin4---Pin5-----Pin6----Pin7----Pin8---Pin9
V1----145--------------1.05----H-------H------143.9-----------1.03----H
V2----136.9----0--------0------H-------H------262.2--136.3---137.3 --H
V3----208.0---55-------77.1---H-------H------203.5------------77.1----H
V4-----------------------11.66----------------------------346--------------336
V5-----------------------11.69----------------------------347--------------336
V6----311---------------358------------------------------312---------------

Wall voltage = 124.3
Transformers = GDS

Yes, V2, pin 1 seems low. Check the value of teh resistor that feeds it. Measure the voltage at the turret where you can get good access.

Thanks Stephen - I checked the resistor (R7) and it should be 100K. The actual is 111K. This is close enough right? I'll pick one up tomorrow anyway just in case.

Another thing I noticed is that I overdid it with the solder on a couple of V2 pins and it's obstructing the tube from sitting all the way in. I'll pick up some wick to see if I can get that stuff out of there.

There's not a whole lot else it can be.

111 is 10% higher so 10% less voltage = 14 V 14 + 136 = 150, so now we're talking. I have seen bad tubes suck the voltage lower, so after you've replaced the part, measure & then maybe try another tube & measure.

- I replaced R7 with a resistor that measured 99K. Voltage increased from
136.9 to 143V

- Removed the solder from the tube socket hole. Tube now seats fully. No Change in voltage still 143V

- Removed the JJ 12AX7 from V2 and installed an EH. Voltage now at 146V.

I think I'll settle for that. I need to get some practice in.

What is the effect of lower than expected anode voltage anyway? I'm thinking gain would be higher right?
