Hi everyone,
I thought you might be interested in a studio recording that my son did.
He is at music college,he first used a cornford amp(sounded rubbish,I'll try
and get that up as a comparison),but wasn't happy, then he took
the plexi i built him.
It's an original song, have a listen,i'd like some feedback please.

Thanks.

Pretty good quality recording. The Plexi playing rocks nicely when it gets going. Interesting lyrics and riffs. Good transitions as well. All in all, a very decent effort. Tell him to stick with the Trinity Amp!

Thanks for the comment.
I should of said the distortion kicks in after a minute or so.
I thought the plexi sounded really good considering it's a 1x12 open back cab, mic'd up
front and rear, speaker was an old g12h.
Love these amps btw.

I could tell when it kicked into high gear. pretty distinctive . It did sound very good, I have to say.
Was it cranked when recording or attenuated in any way?
i think they did a great job recording. Mark of 85%

The vvr was turned down a bit,volume full,gain on 6ish i think.
My sons best friend did the mixing,he's at the same music college, doing music production.
I think it's good they get to use all the studio facilities as part of the course.
I'll try and get the track they did with the cornford amp,i couldn't believe
the difference.
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated btw.

Guitar was an 89 greco 59 with shed paf pickups for all electric parts.
Lovely guitars,i've also got a 1980 greco super real.
All the same settings throughout,no pedals, too lazy and can't be bothered,
he just picks harder for the lead.

Really cool song and nice recording.

To me it has elements of Black Keys meets Alice in Chains meets Zep with Jeff Buckley inspired vocals... now that's pretty rock and roll!

Tell them to keep up the good work, I would like to hear more!

Nicely done. I love the old-school vibe. The plexi is such a great sounding amp. If I had my time back I would have gone that route instead of the sIII. I built a plexi for another member here and absolutely LOVED it. Maybe I'll build another one once I get my backlog of projects cleared up.

You can turn an sIII into a Plexi quite easily. :happydance:
