Hi building a plex 18 watt. in the resource pictures the transformer is orientated so the green heater wires face the front
yet in the supplied directions it recommend green wires face the side of the rectifier
is one direction better than the other?

I've done either way as have people on this forum.

These days I like the heaters (green) coming towards the IEC socket. Main's and HV winding stay at the top near the switches and pilot lamp.


Try to visualize where the wires would go when the transformer is oriented either way. I think you'll find the wire runs are shorter using the mounting position listed above.

Yes, we flipped the PT 180 degrees, but haven't updated the pictures. So, we will do that! What is in the layouts is our recommended installation.

what wire is best from the IEC to fuse to switches
on the layout it is black and white wire
in the kit the only 20 gauge wire is the twisted red and black
which i used up on the filaments. Is the insulation on the 22G
thick enough to carry AC?
