Hi my trinity plexi has been fine for a few years now, but after my son had been playing it on full for a couple of hours over a few weeks, the sound has dropped off to virtually nothing on both channels.
I measured voltages, they all seem ok.
i swapped all the power and pre amp tubes, still the same.
I'm getting the correct voltage out the rectifier.
The vvr is working correctly.
Speaker is good.
Could a bad cap cause this?
If the ot went awol i thought i'd have no sound.
Not sure what to check so any help would be appreciated.

Can you list the voltages here at two different VVR settings? B+ at 350 and 175
Its not a Trinity set of iron or VRM so I dont know about the OT. But burning out an OT is rare. I can give you some measurements for our OT and that might help to confirm if it is OK. I think the measurements are posted in the Resource section.

It was my OT that went, it was a valvepower tx, I'm in the uk so it made sense.
I'm a bit annoyed and don't know why.
It's back up and running, I took it off my sons amp.
Thanks.

Uk you say ampmaker should have a replacement his was modeled of a hyboeyer. I know shipping across the pond is sometimes insane as it seems it is here . Its weird i got a 45 chassis shipped from the uk cheaper than i could get it out of the states :? . I wonder if shipping from canada to uk is cheaper than it is from the states to UK. And the value of the pound vs cad might help you. I dont know about your import charges.

I used a valve power output transformer and it still sounds great btw.
Don't get me started on shipping costs from Canada, they are bloody high compared to states postage.
I've just ordered some guitar making templates post was almost as much as the templates.
Anyway rant over.
