Hi everyone, i've been busy building guitars mostly for my sons band, it's not the same band as the last studio recording
i put up on the forum.
Just thought i'd put up a couple of rough demos recorded at mike oldfield (tubular bells) son studio in uk.
It was recorded onto 2inch tape old style.
It's my sons band, they used both amps i built trinity 18 plexi through an old g12h and a 36 watt plexi through a marshall 4x10.
My hand made joe perry les paul is being played through the 18 watt by the other guitarist who has no money but he can play which i like, he did the high solo on fly away and most of the clean stuff.
On revelation the stand out bit is the wah solo, my guitar trinty 18.
There is no lead player as such as they take it in turns or whoever wants to do what and they're as good on rhythm.
Oh and they're still looking for a singer.
It's still needs mixing and mastering but i'm happy how it sounds.
Love some feedback please.

Awesome!

Any pedals used? Was it just the TMB side, or jumped?

Fly. Away goes nicely from clean and jangly -and on up. Nice.
Revelation is a really punchy rock. Very. Interesting recording of the vocals.
I like the guitar riff and the meat in the tone. The way solo Sounds great. Any effects on guitar and what were the approx settings on the amp etc.?
All well played and recorded.
Good job!!

Thanks for comments!
Funny you said about the vocals they were sung through the 18 watt.
Both amps flat out, my son even had prescence on 10.
No pedals apart from the wah.
I'm not sure what channel the 18 was played through, I'll ask him.
They weren't jumped, they just don't bother as long as it sounds good.
At least when they go gigging there's no big pedal board to cart round.
I think there was a big difference in tone when recorded on tape.
The guitar was put together with cheap mahogany so I can tone test, I'm making 3x 59 les paul replicas with good mahogany, we'll see how they turn out as the other one plays and sounds really good.
Then back to amps, I need to make some more!
