Ok, using the pictures found on this forum I have the box built with both the front and back detached. I had some scrap 3/4" oak ply so it seemed to work fine.

I am trying to decide if I need to tolex the front before I attach it or after? Doesn't that piping staple along the sides of the front panel? Forgive me I have never done this tolexing thing before. Do I just glue the front panel on or should I use screws?
thanks
Don

Tolex the front panel. Staple piping around it. Then screw it from the inside front using cleats attached inside the cab. Do the same with the rear but screw it from the outside.

I would use 1/2" ply as the tolex is hard to apply to the inside corner cut-outs otherwise.

Make sure that you leave 1/8" gap around the panel before tolex/piping so that you can fit it into the cabinet opening.

Good luck!
