I'm looking to get my first Trinity (and 18-watt) kit. I'm trying to decide if I want to go with the sIII or the Custom Plexi. Looking to get as close as possible to a '67 super lead sound (or '68/'69 super bass sound, I believe)-- the shared cathode preamp circuit. Looking for a tone that is warmer, a bit darker, and has sweeter highs. Not a ton of gain is necessary but gives a smooth overdriven tone with tons of sustain when cranked (jumping the channels if it adds anything, of course). Cream-era Eric Clapton might be a good reference point.

Does anyone have any clips of the Custom Plexi version in action? I've only been able to find the sIII version so far on youtube.
