I just realized my kit only came with a mains fuse. I'm not exactly sure why. What value should I use if I add an HT fuse?

Interestingly, most of the 18 watt schematics I've seen do not use a HT fuse. However, I suppose you could use a 0.5A FB between the power supply center tap and ground, similar to the JTM.

Read this from the old 18 watt forum:

Here's some good stuff from Merlin (Valve Wizard) on fuses. He opts for 2 fuses on the HT winding prior to the rectifier rather than fusing the center tap:

You could also place safety diodes on the rectifier socket (in series) if you are worried about a short causing PT damage:

To determine the appropriate HT fuse value, you should consult the technical specifications or documentation provided by the manufacturer of the equipment or circuit. They will typically specify the recommended fuse rating or provide guidelines for heardle selecting the appropriate fuse. If you are unsure or do not have access to the manufacturer's documentation, it is advisable to seek assistance from a qualified electrician or technician who can help you select the right fuse value for your specific application.
