What a pretty cab. Can't wait to see it after it gets oiled down!

Ibet, thanks!. That's the head cab from the cab set that Stephen is building for my SIIIv6.
You should see the matching extension cab. Absolutely fantastic work!

Stephen and I are discussing whether I'm going to finish the cabs or if he will, decision will be made in the next day.

I can barely wait to get the kit and the cabs, it will look great next to the new R8.

Beautiful cab. Questions though.

Why are the speakers based at the bottom?
Why is there molding around the baffle?
Why does it look like I can place a chassis in there?
Do not understand.. Sorry.

By the way, gorgeous wood. I love wood soooo... much, :D
Thanks,
Jac

:?: Why are the speakers based at the bottom? - baffle board is upside down!!
:?: Why is there molding around the baffle? To lift the grill cloth off the baffle
:?: Why does it look like I can place a chassis in there? - You could, but cut it out to fit first! The cab needs to be a certain volume to work properly and look nice too! :D

Long week. Had to do overnights.
Well, at least I now know the speakers werent some new scientific design :D Just busting you
The molding, is that the "frame" that the grill cloth rests on (adhered too)?
The volume you speak of, if you placed a chassis in there, would this screw up the sound of the speakers? Im guessing the cab is mathematically computed for the 2x12?
Thanks

 The molding, is the "frame" that the grill cloth rests on? Yes, and it is stapled to the sides

 Re: volume. Putting a chassis inside isn't going to affect anything (except maybe cause rattles from time-to-time :D ). As far as mathematics are concerned - Yes - well sort of. Physically has to fit the speakers and just the rear opening is 1/3 of this cab and it sounds great. More volume = more bass. We found this just about right, although the 212 marshall style combos are only 9" deep and they sound good too.

The big brown box showed up today! Now I've got something to do over the weekend.

I've only had time to review the new build manual, been shoveling and practicing the rest of the night.

Stephen, the build instructions are much improved over the ones I got for the first build, well done. I really like the tube discussion.

I'm a bit embarrassed to see how many of my questions from my first build made it into the FAQ section  .
I was going to repost my suggestion on building up the input jacks, but it's in the manual also, thanks for thinking it was a sharable idea.

I'll see if I can borrow a camera and take some pictures.

JCNY. Time to start your thread as well.

All questions become input to improving the guide. Our objective is to not have to answer too many of them! :D

Always looking for suggestions.
