Coco was kind enough to ask me to audition his prototype VRM implementation. He installed it into my sIII plexi conversion.
All you can see from the outside is an extra knob on the back beside the impedance (ohmage) selector switch.
The first thing is that the feel of the amp seems to be preserved. What I mean by that is, the low end chunk, the ability to do pinch harmonics AND the sustain were all there at very very low volume levels.
Second thing is it the VVR did a good job of reducing the volume right down to bedroom level quiet. I was a little shocked how good it sounded but soon recovered.
There are a couple of tweaks I think are needed but all in all this thing is a pretty big winner. I played the amp for 2 hours at a jam today and it stood up well. No funny smells, no funny sounds just good old rock and roll.
Nice one Coco
Cheers
