So Ive been making some of the suggested mods to get a bit more gain on the TMB ch of an sIII: bumped down r9 to 820 ohm, removed r8, changed vr-1 to 1M-A, have a 1uf / 2.7k combo for the boost. Also changed the mid and bass signal caps to .047 and .01 respectivly and treble control to 33k / 250 pf. Problem is the mid now adds more gain as it gets maxed and the treble control thins out the response from 7 up to a trebly thin sound. Ive put the original values back and still have the same effect here. So thinking it could be some of the enhanced gain mods. Any ideas here? Its driving me nuts not be able to get these controls not having a smooth effect. Thanks in advance. Also changed the cathode bypass to 1uf instead of the 47uf on this channel...

Did you ever just add the stock boost switch to the original?
