Okay. Here we go. I went to a local electronics supply store and bought a Clarostat 1Meg 2watt Linear Potentiometer for my VRM (yet to be installed). It cost uh hmm....$22.60. Did I...

1. pay a reasonable price for a good quality pot considering I wasn't buying bulk.

2. pay a little too much but what the heck, it wasn't too bad, or...

3. get hosed buy a local electronics supply store preying on the ignorant consumer telling tales of bulk sales versus single items purchases...

Verdict please.

Also, is Clarostat a decent brand of potentiometer?

Clarostat is good stuff. They are about $10.00 from Allied - not sure if they have a minimum order. By the time you pay shipping figure $15.00. Then you gotta wait for it.

$23.00 and you have it now. Not a great deal - but not terrible either.

Thanks. I feel a little better now. I'm sure I'll feel waaaaayyyy better when it's in my amp with the VRM! Gotta find time to finish the amp first.

That's what I thought when I bought it. I just asked them if they had one. I picked up a few other small items, paid for everything with my debit card and left. I was in a hurry trying to do a million things in an hour. When I got home and looked at the receipt, I went Holy S!! This pot better work flawlessly.

The pain is slowly wearing off. Now if I could just find some time to finish my TC-15 all would be well in the universe.
