Someday I'll get it right the first time, but not today.

I have AC coming in okay. I have DC reading 427V from the rectifier and across the board, tube side where it should be. Nothing registering on the bottom side of the electrolytics.

The pilot lights up...I have voltage on one side of it, 3.1 VAC, but nothing on the other. I'm not sure what's going on there, since the green wires from the power transformer are both supposed to be 3.15 VAC? One is marked (twist)...not sure about that either.

The only tube that shows life is the rectifier.

Right now I'm going to take a step back and weed let the frustration settle, but if anyone has an idea where to start, I'm all ears.

Merci!

1) check all your grounds
2) you should have 6.3 VAC across the pilot ligt terminals.
3) check that your jumpers under the board are correct by measuring the resistance between the ends from the eyelets on the top.

1. Check

2. This seems to be a problem. First I found that I had dripped solder from one of the light terminals and it was grounding. I cleaned it up with desoldering braid. I measured the voltage and I'm only getting 4 VAC now across the light terminals. The tubes now light. I get 3 volts VAC at pins 4/5 on valves 1 and 2. Suggestions?

3. Seems good. The amp now works but I believe the volume is a lot lower than it should be.

Also the power tranny gets quite hot. Normal?

I'm getting close.

Thanks Stephen for your help. Installing the new PT solved the problem. All voltages were good and it sounded wonderful.

Now I have another problem that I'll put in a new thread.
