At a gig last weekend, my Lightning 15 suddenly started humming, increasingly loudly. I switched it off immediately, and after a few seconds tried switching it back on. The hum had stopped, but the amp sounded darker. Today I tried swapping out preamp tubes, but found no noticeable differences. Not having power tubes or a rectifier tube on hand that's as far as I got. What would be the recommended next steps?

If the B+ is good, I would be changing the power tubes.

The only time I ever had an issue with one of my Trinity amps was with the original 15. It started getting fizzy and distorted, and low on output.

I changed the two power tubes and it was back to normal.

Now I just carry a spare set of new EL84's in my gig bag.
