Hi All,

Took delivery of 2 new kits yesterday, a Triwatt and a TC 15.
Since the Triwatt faceplate broke during shipping, i decided to start with the TC 15.
I still consider myself a newbie, allthough i have already build an 18 watt plexi,
which worked perfectly from day 1, and i use it every day in the studio.
Anyway, here's a few pic from yesterdays effort, please report if you spot an error. It's not soldered yet.

More to come, when progress is made.

Thanks for looking.

Nicolai

FYI cosmetically it looks a little nicer if you straighten the component legs first, and then make cleanly angled bends in the leads, rather than curving them. The amp will still sound the same both ways.

BTW I also think it was a good idea to start with the TC15 and get that working, before starting on the Triwatt. The Triwatt is a more advanced build and has more gain. So the experience you get with the TC15 will be a big help for the Triwatt build.

Looks great Nicolai.
Follow the great directions, and you shouldn't have a problem.
Can't wait to here the clips.
I agree you should do the TC 1st. But, of course, you own them and it's your choice    :D :D :D

Have FUN!!!  8) 8)

I've tried it many ways and can confirm it works! Not sure which style I like better. I do likethe TRIWATT though. Check out a Fender board or for that matter, even an old Marshall board for some stylish examples!

Our objective is to make all our Build documentation so a beginner can build any amp. Sorry the faceplate broke.

Thanks guys.

I think how you bend the legs are a matter of taste.
I am just trying to make it clean, i'm not a perfectionist.
Anyway it's fun, and i am really looking forward to hearing the result.
Should have more time to build later this week.

Here is a song where i used my 18 watt plexi.
Here's the chain.

Suhr S1 strat
Analogman King of tone
18 watt plexi
Custom made badouk cabinet with BBQ speakers.
SM 57
Great River pre amp
Logic pro

http://www.paradisepi.com/Music/Walk%20 ... %20704.mp3

I love the sound of the KOT, and prefer it over the 18 watt break up.
But the whole combinatin sounds great, and i have a hard time putting the guitar down once i pick it up.
But i want to get a Tone tubby alnico next.
Gets pretty good reviews in here.
Got one for sale?

Have a great sunday

Nicolai

A quick question.
Does the twirled B+ wire have to be solid?

Thanks

Really Great sound Nik. Really nice recording and I love the git playing. Congrats. Singer has got a great voice too! All in all a great package. Would love to hear some more!

B+ wire can be solid or stranded. I tend to use stranded.

I am having some trouble figuring out how to wire the underside of the eyelet.
The illustration doesnt seem to follow the newest layout.
I am following the layout, but it would be nice to have the right illustration.
If i'm right:-)

Edit, posted some more pics.
Please take a lok at the power section as well.

Ok, finished today, almost.
A 180 pf cap for channel 1 volume pot was missing....
Will have to see if i can find that locally tomorrow, those are quite common, yes?

But i did manage to try channel 2, and something is wrong, not to much power.
I have a feeling i have wired the push pull volume pot wrong.

Could somebody take a look?

Thanks.
