Les Paul passed away today 94 and still playing every week

Guy was responsible for a lot of what we consider "modern music"

I would have to say that Les Paul and Tom Scholz are my two biggest influences, both musically and professionally.
If you haven't had a chance to see it, the "American Masters, Les Paul" program on PBS is a fantastic overview of Les Paul and his contributions to our musical existence.

Had a moment of silence, followed by some guitar ruckus last night, in Les' honour!

A great mind and musician.

The man had a very full life & left a legacy the world can enjoy. Immortalized in his guitars.

...not to mention sound-on-sound recording and the 8-track tape recorder.

I haven't been on the forum here for a LONG time but read this post and had to say I was sad to hear about Les Paul as well. I never really got into his music when I was younger but respected him tremendously and its such a shame to see such a talented and influential musician lost. I wish I could play as quick as he could!!!

Me and another friend of mine were just talking a couple months ago about how cool it would be to do a road trip and see him play in New York. Now we'll never get the chance :(
