I'm a little confused about what you're saying....

0.0047uF is 4.7nF or 4700pF

0.0005uF is 500pF

Sorry for the confusion
after posting 1st pics I realized I had put a 472k (cap far left) where a .0005 cap was called for
before pic:

Image

After pic:

Image

So caps go 360pf 500pf .001 .0022 .0047 .01
this is what I had on hand

Thanks for looking zaphod
will the silver mica make much difference from poly?

little more work on the conversion
got the unibit to enlarge the chassis for the 5AR4 (octal socket)

the monsta bit:
http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/af301/dcribbs1412/tc-15013.jpg

had to move the fuse assembly out of the way but otherwise no big deal to drill out...wired 290v to pins 4 and 6...5v to pin 2...0v to pin 8 :

http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/af301/dcribbs1412/tc-15011.jpg

remembered to use the 5v tap(yellow/white) and tie off the 6.3v(white) I used for the 6CA4(EZ81)
hope I read this right:

Thanks Stephen
I was hoping to create a nice home for your chassis.
Got some NOS tubes and a few different speakers I'm going to mess with. Then record some sound clips.

channel 2 sounds really good
but I have to turn volume way up on channel 1 to get acceptable volume(a long with quite abit of hiss)
I've done searches and checked res values, pot values, continuity and
changed tubes, but I'm not sure the ef channel should have this much
difference in volume.
any help is appreciated
thanks
