Hey all.

Finished my tweed yesterday, after several months at sea:-)
Before i fire it up, it woulf be nice with a few more pair of eyes, to spot errors.

I wired the Power like this.

240 V

White from outlet to Black PT
Black from outlet to fuse

Black/blue to Black/White

Black red to on/off switch.

Photos are here.

Thanks

Nicolai

For 240V - use the primary in series hooking Black /Blue to Black /White. Connect 240 mains to Black/Red and Black (common/neutral).

If White on mains line is neutral in your country, then it should go to Black on PT.

Other connection (Hot) should go through fuse to power switch and then to Black/Red on PT.

Rule is: Always break the hot line (fuse, switch)

Yes, you have the Black /Blue to Black /White connected properly.

So basically you are saying that i have done it right.

Did you take a look at the pics, can you spot anything irregular.

Thanks

Nicolai

Check that the path for the hot side is correct. Just follow it through. Some of the leads off the board are long and it might be a little noisy.

Just got done firing it up.
And it works perfectly, not noisier than my 18 watt or TC 15, and it sounds beautifull.
Why on earth havent i build this before......

Now if only i can bring back the triwatt to life.

Thanks:-)

Ok, i am liking this amp a lot.
But i need a speaker fot it.

I have a cabinet with a silverbell/blueboy ceramic combination, but the cabinet is to big to haul to the sunday jam......

And my TT alnico is 16 ohm, and looses to much tone when i try it.

So any suggestions for a speaker.
I am thinking TT san rafael or maybe even a 2 x 10" cabinet with with BBQ's or TT.

Any suggestions.

Pass on the San Rafael.

For smooth, compessed great sound - TT Alnico Gold standard IMO

For a vintage, tough bark, Celestion Custom Lead 80 really rocks. Just ask bgroup.

People do seem to like the reissue Jensen P12Q but it may loose control it in the bass. Amp has lots of bass, so go easy in that area with a speaker.

12" is the way to go IMO, but 210 might be good too - never tried it. Just 2X the price.

Yup, I've speaker tested Stephen's Deluxe twice and both times concluded that the CL80 is my fave with that amp. It's REALLY good. :D
