I installed a VRM kit into my tweed deluxe and would like to thank “HarmonyoftheSpheres” for the excellent post as the guidance and pictures really helped me. I hope my pictures will help someone else.

I installed the board where the ground screw was and moved the grounds to one of the bolts on the power transformer. I used a push/pull on/off switched pot and put it in place of the Standby switch so I still have a standby when needed and the pot can be adjusted to get the desired sound.

Looking at the picture you can see the chicken head on the right is the pot/switch. It is a bit tight but there is enough room to turn the pot 360 degrees. The sound is much more controllable, my wife and neighbours should be happy with not having to hear my crappy playing.

Do you get any scratchy pot sounds at low settings? or did you put in the blocking caps?
