How about "Tramp" in big letters with "a buttery little tone bitch!" in smaller letters below it. 8)

BTW, took the Tramp proto back to Stephen this past weekend 'cause he had the "production OT" and wanted to make sure it didn't change the tone... well it did... and it's BETTER!! Tighter, a bit bigger, and a bit more forward... I'll use that word again - made the amp sound more "expensive"... Man, I love this little amp!! I'm usually a pretty patient guy, but in this case I can't wait to get mine in here once it's built!!! :D

The OT is what we're calling "Fat Stack", which is 25% more laminations. As well as handling the bigger tubes with a nice safety margin, it was hoped it would provide more bass, more control and more tone.

So, yes, all 'round good news.

I told bgroup the Tramp was on it's last legs for a prototype, but I guess those are pretty long legs! I just patched her up, and sent her back out to play!

Plan is still to ship kits before the end of May.

Hi Stephen,

As you know, I used your Tramp during our last session in Brent's great studio, and she set the tone for the session no doubt.
I had my mind on other things (working with Brent has been brilliant) and wanted to try her out at home before commenting.

I took home your little Tramp last night and had my way with her.
She offered so much for so little (I'm not that little) that I think a more long term relationship needs to happen.

She has wonderful range of sounds ... to my ear she sounds like a much bigger gal ... very ballsy.
She has a dark husky voice, sounding like she's had a good long night of shagging, though still articulate.
All kinds of complexity while remaining warm with good humour.

I want one.

I'm leaning toward having you build a finished amp but the kit idea is really intriguing.
Do you get everything including the cabinet and speaker?

How do I go about ordering one? I would be happy to own this prototype if that was an option.

thanks,

Percy

Percy, loved your work and clips Brent posted. Very cool stuff and so much to listen to & for.

Saucy Review too!

The proto is really on it's last legs and should be rebuilt to spec. In the Want Ad section there are various ownership options you can check out. http://www.trinityamps.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2047

We'll also be posting the Product information on the main web site very soon, so check for that this week. j-rock is almost finished with that update.

Then email me and let's get you going.

If you only knew the full extent of the "sauce"!!! ;) Here's a few more words to describe Lord Percival - intense, inspiring, brilliant. It'll be great to have Percy and his devotion to great tone around these forum parts!!

Those all seem to be the reasons I got into the playing part of music, rather than just listening. Still do lots of listening, wishing I could play what I hear.
Have a new time waster, wonder how the Tramp will like it?

So the Tramp proto went to its final Quinte destination before returning home to Stephen this week. I got the amp to a friend of mine and guy I've worked with Dari Pouyat of the band Nine Mile (http://www.nine-mile.com/). Dari's got a very cool thing happening - sort of a mix of Bob Marley, Ben Harper, Wilco... Anyway, his boys were in town for some recording, a rehearsal and a local Sat night gig so it was the perfect opportunity for him to try the amp in his context. I haven't talked to him about it yet, but I saw a set of the gig on Saturday night and it was great - not only did the band sound great, but the Tramp rocked! Dari was switching between an acoustic DI'd to the PA, and an Epiphone 335 copy into the Tramp. I didn't actually look at the amp, but it sounded like he was running 'Tude in the mid-gain ranges. What was nice was that it wasn't a super big room, but the electric tone was able to have that big amp saturation without drowning out the drums (playing with blasticks a lot of the night) or anything else. He wasn't using a cab either, just the amp straight up... It was nice to hear the Tramp in a live context like this - it might just be the ultimate club gigging amp!! :D

Really looking forward to heard from D'Ari again. He'd tried it out a few weeks ago so his feedback will be interesting.Small amp perhaps , but showing it can deliver a big sound.

Perhaps I was Stew, but now the Tramp is one of my main "goto" amps in my studio! ;)

Actually "version 1" wasn't a version 1. It was a work in progress at that point, and neither Steven nor I were quite satisfied with it. But we needed to get Brent's opinion. I also had a pretty good hunch what final tweaks I wanted to do for the production version- and they proved right. :)

FYI' D'Ari's amp is a regular production Tramp, but with a 12" Celestion speaker recommended by Brent.
