Bill:

I bought an Avatar Extension Cabinet, used, locally, but the 1 X 12" Combo Cabinet, which was a modified 18 Watt Marshall Cabinet Design, I got from Mather Cabinets, in TN.

Currently I am running the Triwatt with a Fane AX12-150 in the Combo Cab, and a BBQ Ceramic Axis 12 in a closed back Avatar 1 x 12" Vintage Cab. The only thing about running a Triwatt as a Bluesbreaker Style Combo is make sure the Combo Cab backplate, where the chassis is mounted is a thick piece of wood. More than 1/2". I was getting some vibrations in the cab, at louder volumes, and a bass amp being played near the Triwatt was also causing it too, even if the Triwatt was off. I fixed it by placing foam weather striping between the cabinet, and the backplate, but if the backplate was thicker it most likely wouldn't be a problem. The Triwatt Transformers are heavier than those of a 18 Watt Marshall, which the cabinet was basically designed for.

If I did it again I would probably do a Triwatt Head, with 1 x 12" Avatar Cabs, but mainly so I could switch speaker types quickly. I have three Avatars, all in different configurations, so it's nice to quick change to see what speaker works better, at the moment.
