Larry was over on Thursday to test a TC15 that was being shipped out and when he was done that , I handed him a couple of Tramps to test. One was the 10" Jensen and the other was a 12" Celestion Silver Series.

He took the 12" / 6L6 version home and started on a few recordings. Here we go:

It was a piece of a recording of my morning work out session (keeping the fingers limber). The first one is wet and the second one is dry. Clean with a strat - lbetune

These clips certainly show how clean the Tramp can really be if you want it.

Both clips are of the same recording but the one with FX in the title has some reverb, echo, compression and eq applied. The other one is dry as a bone. If you listen to each clip from the 40-50 second range you should clearly hear the difference. I did one of each just because.

Having said that, the track was recorded in mono using an APEX 430 Condenser mike about a foot out in front of the cab. The guitar is a 1983 Japanese vintage '62 strat. The amp was pretty quiet as the family were still sleeping. A winged C 6L6 is in the power slot.

Starting with the Volume, the settings on the amp were 11 - 5.5 - 11 - 6 - 7. Tude and boost were off.

I'm dying to start messing with the tubes in this thing.

Looking forwrd to more as always. If you drop down to a 6V6, dont forget to flip the bias switch to 6V6 from 6L6.

That would be my TC15 that Lawrence blessed with his mojo! I've been tracking its progress online every day, and it's ready for pickup tonight! :D

Yes! Merry Christmas!

Nice clips
I prefer the clean no fx Tramp clip with Strat. Covers 2 of my favorite things, single coils and a tramp 8)
And I do like the other 2 clips

Ah, Steely Dan deliciousness. I know it's an old clip by now, but what were the settings on that? Was that all Tramp and no pedals?

It's been a number of months, so I thought I'd bump my question.

I can ask Lawrence, but chances are he won't remember who could?

Definitely no pedals in that clip. As I recall I had the Volume almost cranked full and the master down around half. Treble and Bass to set to taste. I'm pretty sure I was using the 335 in the middle position with the neck pickup rolled off a bit. For the last riff in the solo I always switch to the bridge pickup only.

Hope this helps.
