this looser has been hyped by countless juniors.

Sgt. Deadbeat has ripped a few people that knew tubes...

newbies won't notice the caper...

and yes, the guy is a dumb ass!

what you see, is what you get!!

I'm really sorry to hear you've had a bad experience with the Sarge. :( However, there are many testimonials on this board, and other tube amp BBSs, from people including from experienced builders, who have been really pleased with his service. Most of the feedback has been that he's gotten people real great sounding NOS tubes at very reasonable prices, and he's always been good about returns of any faulty tubes. I recall comments along the lines of, when one out of a pair of power tubes went faulty, he sent another complete pair without asking for the other remaining good tube to be returned. As I don't know why you had a sour experience, I can't comment any further than that, other than I'm really sorry to hear that.... (Also FYI I have no affiliations with Terry and haven't been in contact with him the last few years).

and that is the internet in all it's glory...

one guy has, or think he has a deal on somes glass...

he shoot's his satisfaction away on a few forums...

that get's picked up by 100 other forum members and pretty soon a myth has grown bigger and better...

When you are in tubes long enough, you sometimes score good...no denying!

I for one has just scored a box load of N.O.S. 12AX7, 12AU7 and EL84 from an old Hammond organ serviceman's wife who had long passed. Made in Great Britain, Holland and USA. I drove 700 KM! Smiled there and back!!

Folks who gets shafted don't usually brag about it...they move on...live and learn!

Food for thought...http://www.jeangodbout.com/terry-kilgore-scam.html

Besides...i don't like vulgarity!

TT

My personal advice to buyers... buy from thetubestore.com...you'll get what you paid for!

That's pretty disturbing. And I hate profanity too.

I'm actually talking about sane and reputable people that I know, who have been real happy with Terry's service. In the past I've chatted quite a bit with Terry myself on the net, and he always came across as a very straight-up, though highly eccentric guy.

Yes, they're good. Also Lord Valve has a real solid rep.

I've had nothing but great experiences with buying tubes from Terry. Having said that I don't think I would buy "new" tubes from him 'specially if I wanted the original box ect, because his stock is usually not new? I know he holds 13th generation Shuguang KT66s in great esteem perhaps that is what you have. I think he sometimes get's tubes form the plants before they make it to paint ect. to save $$.
I whole heartedly support Terry and his tubes!
