Trying to find out how critical the rating on a bleeder resistor would be.
I've seen references to using 200R 2W and 220K 2W resistors.
I have a 47K 5W resistor - is this adequate to bleed caps in a Deluxe?
What are the risks of using an under-rated resistor?

I have fiddled a bunch (too much) inside my Deluxe and I've never measured much voltage in the filter caps after being turned off and unplugged. So I don't know the answer to your question but you may not need bleeder resistors.

... and of course I guess we shouldn't take it for granted that there wouldn't be much voltage in the filters....

We recommend 220K, 2W as adequate. Measure the voltage on the +ve of the filter caps before you stick your head in there!!
