for my Triwatt kit to ship, I got a wild hair and decided to start making a 2x12 cab. I based the dimensions off a Mesa Boogie Recto cab, because it looked easy to build  I ordered my speakers, tolex, grill cloth, piping, corners, and speaker wire/jacks today. I decided to go with the BBQ FC12 speakers in 8ohms. Apparently these are close to the Fane Crescendo speakers in David Gilmour's WEM cabs. I'm hoping they sound solid. Kind of pricey, but I wanted to get as close to Hiwatt friendly as I could.

I'll post pictures tomorrow if I can get some decent ones taken. :)

EDIT: LOL! Nice job on the BBQ translation. I wondered why I kept seeing that pop up on here!!! :)

I have the baffle cut out too, but I'm waiting on the grill and speakers to come in to mount it...and I have to figure out if 1x2 is going to work or not for the frame/cleats/support...

Once you put the speaker baffle in place the cabinet will be more stable and you won't have to worry about "racking" as much.

The cabinet looks good so far.

Hey Casey4s, nice to see you over here! I used your tolex guide years ago to do my very first cab. Never got a chance to say thanks!

Thanks!!

Ahh, I actually have the tolex done on this bad boy

It's not perfect, but I also used Casey's guide for this! He was pointed over here from my thread for the Triwatt on Harmony Central :)

The lines you see in the corners are actually pencil marks from drawing where to cut...but oh well :)

No problem Stephen, I'm glad it was useful to you. I lost my text hosting in 2008 but recently rearranged it a bit and have it at this link now.

I saw Ztevin's build post on HC and I am really impressed with your kits. I got this link from him yesterday and decided to drop by. You have a really nice group of guys here.

You will want large/tall feet on your head cab if you plan to sit it on your cab. I have one of those handles on a 112 and the small cab feet are too short to clear the handle. I had to use spacers to clear the handle.

Good looking job. Should sound really nice when complete with the Triwatt
