Hey everyone,

I've been looking for a way to isolate the chassis of my 5E3 build from the vibration of the cabinet. Anyone done this?

Some boutique builders claim to do this, or at least discuss its "importance", here and there ... but none seem to take the "show, don't tell" approach to things ... oh well. At any rate, I've never seen it done. Somewhere in the 18-watt section of the Trinity forum, I saw a post with a clever idea about isolating the power tubes, but I can't find the post again, it's buried somewhere ...

Any thoughts or ideas?

I have occasionally shock mounted preamp tubes, but I'm guessing you know how to do that.

That's a huge help! - and no, I've never shock-mounted any part of a combo amp before. It's all new to me.

I have used closed cell 1/4" thick foam tape with sticky tape on one side. Home Depot.

I ended up using Stephen's advice and used weatherstripping foam tape to isolate the chasis and the back panel from the cabinet and from each other. Worked great. No problems. But that's for vibration, if you're looking for shock-mounting, then you may have to use military grade tubes in the build as well for the extra rugged build.
