Hi guys,

I'm building my first Trinity Amp kit TC15.

I had a little question about wiring the transformer for the U.K 240v

I have familiarised myself with the transformer section of the manual and i understand it in principle. But I can't visualise how to physically do the connections.

In series the American way as per the layout black/red and black are twisted together soldered to the live tag. black/white and white are twisted and soldered to the Negative tag.

So how would this work in parallel? Black/white and white to the Live lug and black/red and white to Negative lug?

Thanks in advance!

Ben

For 240V the PT primary coils are put in series.

Cool,

Thank you.

I have a question though. This diagram has the white and white and white/black revered, compared to my transformer (my transformer is the same as the layout in the manual).

i.e my transformer
0 is white 117 is black 0 is white/black 117 is red/black 290 is red 0 is red 290 is red.
transformer in 240v diagram is:
0 is white/black 117 is black 0 is white 117 red/black 290 is red 0 is red 290 is red

Do i have the wrong transformer? if not. Do i go with the wire coding or with the order the wire come off the transformer?

Thanks,
Ben

In that diagram if you go by the schematic of the transformer the layout shows the correct wiring.

In your case where
Black 117V
White 0V
Red/Black 117V
White/Black 0V

Then the White and Red/Black are connected together and your Black is your + 240V (live/hot) and your White/Black is your - 0V (neutral).

Email Trinity to confirm this.
