I've been building my TC15 kit. I have completed the build but am having some unusual voltages during testing.

So I've put all the tubes in a tested the various voltages.
Some of them are slightly different and some of them
are quite a bit higher that specified in the manual.

Here are the readings

V1 pin 1: 1 17
Pin 3: 1.4
Pin 6: 117
Pin 8: 1.4

V2 pin 1: 157
Pin 3: 1.3
Pin 6: 256!!
Pin 8: 163

V3 pin 1: 241!!
Pin 3: 72
Pin 6: 246
Pin 8: 72

V4 pin 3: 8
Pin 7: 385!!

V5 pin 3: 8
Pin 7: 380!!

V6 pin8: 291

V7 pin 1: 60
Pin 3: 2
Pin 7: 107
Pin 8: 2

I have marked the ones that seem high with !! marks.
Are these voltages too high? If so any ideas as to the cause?

This is the Red board design, correct, not the black board?
Usually voltages out of spec are due to incorrect or bad parts like resistors immediately ahead of the measured point, bad grounding on cathodes, jumpers missing, and even unbalanced tubes.

Is the amp working?

it's got a red turret board. The amp makes noise when i touch some of the pin with my multimeter. is it safe to plug a guitar in to test?

Here is what i have found.

I have check the resistor values feeding the pins and they are as per documentation.

i have looked at cathode pins 3 + 8 and they all look good too. Here it the break down of what i found.

v2 pin6 reads 256 it should be 197 goes to the board with a 22k resistor and a 22uf cap and the pin bridges to pin 1 with a 100k
v2 pin 3 links to 8 and then to board 1k5 resistor and 25uf cap

v2 pin 3 splits one to the boost switch and to the 225uf cap and the other to the board 1k5 resistor.


v3 pin 1 reads 241 should be 190 connected to board with 100k resitor and a 0.22uf cap
v3 Pin 3 + 8 are linked then to 1k2 on board


v4 and v5 pin 7 reads 385 should be 298. pins are linked and then travel to the crunch much switch and then to OT

v5+5 pin 3 are link and then to board with a 120/5w resistor and a 22uf cap.


I also measured the voltage points on the board, from left to right. I have bolded the stuff that seams out of the usual tolerances.

The right vertical side of the board. 60 (80) 341 (200) 107 (120). The resistors are correct values i have attached a photo of my
layout with these reading written on there and a photo of the board build.

Just checking on latest documentation nad checked some remaesurements and yours look fine to me. Here are the voltages.
