We worked with Heyboer Transformers to put together an excellent sounding and looking transformer set. Blind sound tests with our sIII amp, have consistently proven that the new Output Transformer, based on the Original Radio Spares Deluxe design, has the Quintessential Marshall sound.

Our custom made Output Transformer set is built by Heyboer to the exact specifications of the original Radio Spares set used in the early Marshall 18 watt amps. This output transformer has convenient flying leads, paper bobbin, vintage grade steel, multiple secondary windings, additional interleaves and splits and the unused ultralinear tap on the primary side has been wound to 5K.

The set is priced at $173 USD plus shipping. This is an excellent price for one of the best sounding 18 watt transformers available. Others may sell this for more than $200.

Has anyone tried this power transformer with sockets for either a 6ca4 or a 5y3? I thought it should work with a diode in series with the dc output of the 5y3 to keep dc voltage off the heater when a 6ca4 was used. Here's a pic of what I was thinking:

I don't think that trick would work, but in any case the PT has a separate 5V winding for directly-heated octal rectifiers. So just take the 5V to an octal socket. Be aware that regular 5Y3s drop the voltage by quite a lot more than an EZ81. However Sovtek 5Y3s (which aren't true 5Y3s) don't drop quite so much voltage.
