Before I start, I would like to thank you for reading this. It's my first build, I've never solder before, never build anything.
(I know I should of started with LEGO... but I really wanted this amp...)

Issue:

I got sound... but it's like having the OD stuck at Full blast...

Resolved Issue:



Problem: No sound...
Solution:(bad solder joint from V5 to output)

Problem: Effect Loop acting funny when connected
Solution: Forgot to remove (Now after the mod) redundant wire from 22K resistor (on the terminal strip) to Master Vol middle pin.

Problem: Did not like the red light from the amp... (was not matching the blue LED from my Fender VG Strat)
Solution: Bought a $0.95 Blue Jewel cap !!!

Try reversing the wires from the primary of the output transformer to the output tubes. For example, if the red wire is going to pin 3 of V5 and blue is going to pin 3 of V6, then connect red to pin 3 of V6 and blue to pin 3 of V5. Or vice versa.

Ok, did that... no more hum... but no sound...

Thanks... at least got rid of the hum squealing !!!

Good. Some progress has been made.

Now just check for all the usual stuff - Bad solder joints, missing jumpers, missing grounds, parts in the wrong place, wiring errors, shorts, input jacks not wired properly, shielding shorted to inner conductor on shielded cable, etc.

Check everything very carefully. Then check again.

Also make sure the patch cords going to your guitar and speaker are good.

Can you measure the voltages at the tube sockets?

When did a single run from 08:00PM to 07:50 AM to finish it... I missed one wire...

So when troubleshooting, checking ground, voltage, solder joint, I've never checked the integrity of the overall project.

The missing link was from:

V3 pin 3 to V4 pin 2... it was crowded (and I forgot that I took it out to change it's color to match the layout... never got it back in there...!?!?) I know it dumb but that's all it took.

Now I'm putting back the effect loop in place!

I'll update with V-Reading once I'm satisfied with my tone!!!!

(never solder anything before except copper tubing for a sink!!! and I'm colorblind !!! So yes it can be done as a first build by a noob)
