Hi, I am building the 18 Watt Plexi. I'm going to link up the wires from Output Transformer to Impedance switch, but I have a question--I noticed that the instructions say to "braid" the OT wires and I've noticed that, in pictures, the wires are all neatly braided. Is it fine to just twist the four wires together, instead of braiding them?

Twisting is fine, too. Personally, I use cable lacing.

Nylon cable ties work too. The idea is just to keep this bundle of stranded wire together and neat.

Mitch, beautiful work! Mine is not nearly so neat  , but hopefully with practice I can get there. Thanks.

Thanks. The photo is from a Hiwatt-inspired amp I built a few years ago.

Transformer wires are somewhat difficult to keep neat because there are a lot of them and they use stranded wire. Unlike solid wire, stranded wire tends to not stay where you put it.

The photos here where people have braided the transformer wires look good. Braiding three wires is easy. I never bothered to learn how to braid four. I have known how to lace a bundle of wires together for a long time, though.
