I am just about ready to start soldering the turret board connections,
but having some difficulties deciding on which ground strategy I should
go for. As I see it, there are three options, any suggestions on which one
I should use?
Nr.1

Nr.2

Nr.3

Nr. 1 The power & power tube cathode pair should go to it's own ground. The rest to a separate one located at the otehr end of the chassis.

Take a look at the 15 layout and follow that one.

Thanks Stephen, nr.1 was my first choice as it makes sense connecting
only the El84 cathode resistor to the power ground. Got a bit confused
with the different Spitfire layouts floating around on the web.
Jim Jones layout rev.2 2003 & Thunder Tweak Ampboards use
nr.2 layout, Paul Marossy layout 2004 use nr.3 layout.
I'll use the trinity 15 ground layout for the Spitfire.

Last night as I was soldering away on my Spitfire the mother of all
thunderstorms rolled in and put up quite a lightning show. I went out and
was trying to get some 'Lightning Strikes' photos but was unsuccessful,
I was just about to give up and go back in to my amp when my
neighbours started a fireworks show, so I got some nice photos anyway.

Guess my next amp has to be the 'Lightning'....

Nice job on the Amp. Some great photos too. The Lightning one is very cool! Where was it taken?

It was taken in Norway from the veranda at my parents house last year.

Finished input jacks and turret board tonight,
pots, output jacks and OT transformer wiring tomorrow.
Should have some sound from the amp on friday,
or start the debug phase...

Building has been a little slow for the last couple of days,
the guy at the local guitar shop keeps calling me and asking
if I can help him to repair amps. Fixed an 1978 Fender Deluxe Reverb
yesterday, the "one week" old 6V6GT tube had shorted from Screen to
Cathode burning the screen resistor and a few components nearby
before the fuse had kicked in. What a mess.... Got it up and running again, great sounding amp.
