There has been a few clips going around with a German guy playing a 1967 JTM45 into a period 4x12 cab with greenbacks. The sound moved me deeply. So, Owning a bluesbreaker combo, I set off on a quest for the afore mentioned tone.

Here is my first shot at it. I could have tried a pair of scumbags for a more woody tone but the g12-65's in the albino Trinity 2x12 came pretty close. I think I could have used a little more gain on the sIII

Volume - 8
Master - 8
Treble -7
Mid - 4
Bass - 2

You can adjust the amout of edge in the distortion profile by using more volume and less master. Conversly, when you crank the master and roll back the mids you will get a more woody power tube distortion.

I used the TMB channel only and the boost was off. The guitar is a historic 335 with 57' Classics (alnico 2 magnets). The guitar has a lot of bottom end so the amp settings kinda reflect that. What I think is more important is that you can dial in the feel and gain of various era marshalls.

Same here Lawrence, I loved the tone of that amp. I've been shooting for something similar as well.
