As Stephen posted, I built (and ran a thread over on HC electric guitars) a Trinity 18 watt sIII over the holidays.

It took me two days to wire it up, working 5 to 6 hours each day. I first placed all the components on the chassis, and then started to lay the components (caps and resistors) on the board. Then I wired it all up. Either I took my time and made sure all the wiring was correct (I really checked everything 3 times before moving to the next wire) or I got lucky, because it fired up and worked great the first time.

I made a wooden cabinet and a 2x12 cab for it, and have about 4 hours play time on it in the past week. It sounds great, but I am still learning to play with the various channels and inputs, and trying different speakers, etc.

Hope to take it to our next gig!

Andrew

Today I received the parts for the boost kit (thank you Stephen!)

Took me all of 30 minutes to install the switch and another jack in the rear panel, and wire in the cap and resistor.

I just paralelled the switch and the jack so I can use a foot switch to turn it on and off or just use the switch on the amp.

Man, does it ever give a healthy boost to the signal! I can see it being very usefull - why not make it part of the stock kit?

The more I play the Trinity 18, the more I realise what an amp should sound like.. and what I used to think sounded good before - well - just doesnt cut it anymore.

Yes, the boost does give it a kick in the @ss! Toggle switched boost & tube selection is part of the v6 kit and we could do it on the sIII.

We developed a 'Soft Boost' circuit circuit that eliminates any possible boost switch 'pop' but it requires some set-up to get it just right, so the 'Soft Boost' is part of the assembled product line only.
