I think we chased everyone away    0Just because I'm having troubles doesn't mean anyone else can't come and play
\18 watt will be back and in the meantime lets build some SEamps and 18watts.
Hell lets just build more amps and populate the world with more POWER. :P :P common Phil, common Francis, lets build a new design and rock the planet. Please
At least I have manners :D
Thanks,
jac

jac, Now that you've got a working meter, complete with Alligator clip, what's the voltages?
Any other news.

Just want to suggest you only change one thing at a time so you know what fixes the problem. OTW [otherwise] you dont know what worked.

I'm pretty sure it was the inputs, I changed out 2 of the tube sockets because for the life of me I couldn't get the tubes in and out without being very forceful. . I finished that and am finishing the wiring now. I did take the inputs back out the circuit. as you know man, is it tight in there. Of course since I now have them out I didn't like how I wired in the 1 meg resistors. So.. I had to put knew ones in. .
Anyway, I just have the RG-74 left to attach and then I'll run the voltages, Now that it's a little safer. :D Ya know I'll tell ya, it definitely takes a hell of alot longer to desolder then solder. Although that Ratshack desoldering solder sucker works great in comparison to the 1 I bought from Parts Express. Not to mention The Parts one was plastic.

Now comes Coco's cab.
The cab is a combo and a beauty. Although, I'm definitely building a head next. Man, are those combo's tight.
This cab was designed for S2 (of whom I bought it). S2 had a different chassis then the standard Trinity chassis (which I'm using) so I have to jerryrig the chassis in. I already glued extensions in. Now I'll have to cut them back a about an inch on both sides. Oops, the beer strikes again. Then retap the screw.
The back panel that attaches to the chassis, the holes were offset. I asked Coco for an extra tiny piece of Green tolex (which he gave me no problem, no charge) and tapped new holes. I filled the old holes with the extra tolex. Worked out pretty nice.
Heading to the workshop now. I'll take pics and post them later.

So much fun to finally be at the cab. :D

Don't know yet, I had her hooked to a shitty 8ohm speaker. The speaker so bad, when I dimed the sIII channel she just died   Flub Flub. I think the speaker is only 10 watts @ 8ohms. All you need for a speaker load. But she played nice for even a lousy speaker. I'm very excited.
As I just wrote, I'll finish repairing the combo cab. Then I'll start trying speakers out, to find the one I like.
then I'm going to do the comparison for the Trinity mag :D Then every one can hear the difference for a combo.
That will be nice for anyone deciding between a combo and a head :D

Sorry Jac, weekends I turn on blues from 11 am to 4 pm on the local pbs radio and go through the LP forum to catch up.

Looking forward to your review, if you can get it up faster than Ibet's :P :P

Well, I should be able to, because Ibet has a new toy he can't put down :D I still have to finish the cab before I have my new toy
Can't wait.
Funny, once I'm done with the sIII I have to jump on a Ampeg, so I can sell it. Need more money for more parts.
Gotta get the next 3 amps I have started done. More fun, Yea  :D :D

Wonder where Coco is? Must be on another roadtrip. Of course that's a good thing. That means he's buying more toys for us :D :D :D

All I could find now.
This is a Ampeg GV-22 The condition is... of course... excellent. And I mean minty. The sound is incredible. You want to talk about feedback. and sustain. Yummy. I have 7 Ampegs. (Including the rare R-15-R in mint condition Man did that amp go up in price). That's mine  As I said I need parts for my builds so some amps are going.
I'll put a new thread up later with pics.
But I'm telling you I only have great specimens . :D
I would definitely work out a deal with you.
If you want I'll email you the pics.
