Hello,
I am new, and thinking of building an 18watter.
After looking at the sIII build Sticky post
I noticed on the turret board, close to V1, right by the R9 there is a 2k7 and a 22uF in parallel but not going any where.
Is it like an option in case some one want more gain connect it there instead of the other 2700 Ohm Resistor?

Thanks

That's the boost mod placement(which I suggest using). You run it to a switch to bring it in and out of the circuit.Welcome, BTW!

it seems the resistor value will be dropped to about 1350 Ohm, is that intended as well?

Yes, add the 22uF cap, mix and enjoy!

I saw in this forum, that this value be 1uF or so. Has the value changed from 22uf to 1 uF? The schematic shows 22uF though.
Thanks

You can use 1 uF. 22uF is what is typical for this and works well.

if you flip the switch while the amp is on, does it make a loud thump sound?

or do you go to standby and then flip the switch to avoid the sound?

Thanks

Yes, it does make a noise. To eliminate that on production models, we designed a soft boost electronic switch but it's not straighforward to build so that is why we only offer a toggle switch on kits.

the toggle switch is very quiet for me... i mean there is a noise but a very small one...

the switch opens up a whole new selection of tones too... i'd recommend it; especially since it's so easy.

Could be the switch. Some have better contacts than others.
