Just finished trying out Ibet's suggestions.
After I figured out I had to be beside / behind the amp to limit feedback to get the volumes up to where I could get the power amp to distort.

I play in my dining room, so its small with a pine wall behind me, plaster walls either side, carpet floor so it's reflective.

Used my R8 LP with after market pup's, 8.3k / 7.5k set, RS kit replacing stock volume, tone and caps.

Set amp as suggested, guitar volumes on 7, nice crunch, creamy, roll back to 5, (relatively) clean, nice tone, volumes to 10 wow, thick creamy overdrive distortion.

I've never heard it like that before :D :D

Thanks!! Can't wait til the next section comes out!!

lbet; good writeup;

I don't have a LP so I can't confirm or deny your settings(I'm sure they are right on); but I like that you explain how each effects the tone...

What's always amazed me is how everyone just cranks everything.... no one takes the time to figure out how the knobs effect the sound; even when there is only 7 of them!!

It's like the other day i was at guitar center.... every guitar i picked up had the volume set up to 10... is everyone a metal shredder now? i guess guitar center isnt where i should look for subtle talented playing anyways but still :P ....

OK, so it's been a while (cough- cough :D ) since anyone has posted.

Ibet, how about that "clean setting" description? That is, if you've had enoough time :twisted:

I mean even Jac has come back from Amp Limbo to rejoin us. :D :D
