Hi all -
I'm having an interesting issue with my TC-15 - which was actually converted from my original Trinity 18 watt - but that's another story. The issue is a weird, harsh, very non-musical, percussive distortion (it's pretty hard to describe) that seems to occur then the MV isn't engaged. I tried disconnecting the leads from the MV and cut altogether to see if the pots were somehow responsible, but there was no difference.

My TC-15 is stock with the exception of sprague atoms on the power side. I'm also using the original 18 watt PT and OT. The amp sounds phenomenal when the MV is engaged, and I've actually put in a non-switching 1M pot in the MV spot as of last night, but I'd like to try it without a MV at some point. Sounds very nice though - I'd say this is a pretty minor issue.

Is anyone familiar with this issue? Any suggestions? Any specific spots to check voltages?

edit: I should have added that - not surprisingly - the issue is also evident at high MV settings.

Thanks,
Rich

Please ignore the previous question, I caught the problem. I had mis-wired the grid for V5 - with the cathode from V4

I'm actually surprised it still worked - and sounded good (at low volume).

It's sounding very sweet now. 8)

Sorry I missed this one. Glad you got it to work. Now you've heard both so ...
