I really like this Red Fang anywhere I normally would use a Celestion Blue. Anyone give one a try yet?

Not yet. What's the price difference? $100?

From what I hear it should be a good match, the Blue is notoriously bright with amps like this. That's why most match them up with a Silver Alnico or a G12-H30 for a little more bass.

The Red Fang and a also the BBQ P12B Blue Dog are suppsed to have a little more mids and bottom that your average Blue.

I used a pair of Red Fangs in a 2x12 Bad Cat I had and they were really a LOT better than the V30/Greenback BadCat combo that was in there. I've also thought a Private Jack would sound nice (greenback copy). Got some experiementing to do.

I also really like the Red Fang, I have been using one in a 2x12 with a Sammi, and have gotten really good results with my TMB. The Sammi seems to help add some low end and thicken up the sound, without taking away from the Fang. I’m still dialing in the Lightning, but so far this speaker combo has worked very well with it. I do have a 1x12 with a Fang in it and I’ll have to hook up the lightning and let’er rip.

A red fang is on my hit list as well...

presently, I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to build another 1X12 (My other one has a G12H30 in it)...and run the two 1X12s side by side....

or build a 2X12 and put the red fang in the 2X12 with something else.

I'm leaning towards another 1X12...since I rarely play live...I'm almost all home recording.

Plus, two 1X12s side by side with some variety of 18 watt amp on each is MORE than enough to easily fill any room I would play....

red fangs and private jacks match up well. the red fang is kinda a Celestion Alnico Blue copy whilethe Private Jack is a greenback copy.

I did run that pair of Red fangs into my Bad Cat and was happy.

My buddy has an old Traynor YGM-3, basically an 18 watt Marshall with verb and trem, closed back. I put a Red Fang in it and the results are outstanding.

Hard to beat that speaker for $109 buck. (www.avatarspeakers.com)
