my spitfire has 360 volts on the plates, could i put in a 5u4 rectifier to lower the voltage? is there a limit to the input voltage of a rectifier?

360 on the plates is not unknown. The 5U4 may not drop it that much if at all but the 5V winding on the PT has to be able to handle 3A.
I've used both on a 15
